The Journey of Elias Pettersson

This 6-minute documentary explores Elias Pettersson’s captivating NHL journey. As a video editor and researcher, I created this edit exclusively using found footage.

The challenge began with no access to original footage. While game clips were available, many were already edited with different music and color grading. At the beginning of the edit the narrative was completely unclear.

I spent hours searching for the right footage to tell a compelling story. When pieces didn’t fit, I continued searching, focusing especially on crucial off-ice moments that revealed Pettersson’s character.

Once everything was gathered, I applied color correction to unify the footage and added sound design and music to enhance the emotional impact.

The result is a documentary that brings Pettersson’s NHL journey to life. The project highlights the ability to craft meaningful narratives from fragmented footage – an essential skill in documentary filmmaking.

Lightfoot & Wolfville

Lightfoot & Wolfville is a story-driven short documentary about Mike, a winery owner determined to reclaim his family’s lost land and build a lasting legacy.

The challenge was to sift through over 8 hours of raw footage and create a compelling narrative within a tight timeframe.

I went through several editing iterations, choosing the strongest footage to tell Mike’s emotional journey. Music editing became a strategic storytelling tool, involving a detailed search for tracks that perfectly match the emotional tone of each section—from his initial loss to his eventual reclamation.

Despite the under-5-minute runtime, I delivered a powerful, emotional narrative. This project shows my ability to turn extensive raw footage into a focused, engaging story—an essential skill for client projects with tight deadlines.

Think Different

Think Different

‘Think Different’ is a 60-second Spec Ad for Apple. I created this spec ad as a video editor and researcher. It honors Apple’s 1997 Brand Manifesto, showcasing visionaries who changed the world from the early 1900s to today.

My main challenge was finding the right personalities who truly embody the essence of ‘Think different’. During that process, I came across the original ad. I knew I had to honor its core message out of respect, without simply copying it.

I dug through archives, created the voice-over, and selected footage to align with the manifesto’s message. Original sound bites, music and sound effects were synchronized with the visuals for a maximum emotional impact. Color correction gave the footage, which spans different time periods, a cohesive, analog feel.

Through detailed research, thoughtful editing and sound design, I have reimagined the power of ‘Think Different’ – enhancing a brand’s message to make it compelling, memorable, and emotionally resonant.

‘Above All’ is a high-energy 80-second commercial for an indoor trampoline park, following a parkour athlete’s journey.

The challenge was to connect the athlete’s story with the park’s brand and inspire viewers to pursue their own athletic dreams.

To achieve this, I balanced the shots for dynamic flow, using rhythmic pacing and music to boost energy. Visual effects emphasized key moments, making the athlete’s movements more impactful and aligned with the park’s message of pushing limits.

The result is a hype edit that promotes the trampoline park while also inspiring viewers to embrace the thrill of parkour.

‘Sunny Side Eatery’ is a vibrant 20-second commercial for a restaurant.

The challenge was to craft an engaging story purely through visuals, relying entirely on stock footage.

I carefully selected each frame and arranged them to create a dynamic visual flow. Perfectly aligned music and sound effects bring the food to life.

The result is an energetic, fast-paced commercial that stimulates the senses and builds anticipation for the dining experience.
